For Collectors! A pair of new replacement 3-1/2 x 5/8 Vise Jaws with the original straight serrations. This pattern is only found in the first generation production vises made in Chicago from 1941-1945. They were discontinued once the 30 degree angled serrations became available.
The A-2 Tool Steel is Heat Treated to 54-56 Rockwell. The colorful pattern on the serrated jaws happens during the Heat Treating process when nitrogen is used. After Heat Treating, these jaws are surface ground flat and then squared.
I slotted the # 10 counterbored holes by 1/32 to allow for sideways adjustment at installation.
